Her focus this summer is primarily on urban dance including hip hop, popping jazz, & jazz funk. She will be training at O.I.P in Toronto, with their world-class faculty including Danny Davalos (O.I.P. Dance Centre's Director and Owner), guest choreographers Luther Brown (C.E.O., Artistic Director, and Owner of Do-Dat Entertainment), Heather Leslie (dancer and choreographer). Mario Castillo (Take IT TO THA FLOOR Co-Founder and a world wide dancer and choreographer), Kojo "TUCH" Mayne (World wide dancer and choreographer) & Mariano Abarca (One of the best breakdancers in the country). In addition to her classes at O.I.P., she is also studying jazz with Stelio Calagias the owner and Artistic Director of Metro Movement Dance Studio in Toronto and former Director of "Les Ballet Jazz". Amanda returns to Newfoundland, just in time to begin teaching in our summer programs. She is already bursting with fresh ideas and is looking forward to having the opportunity to share what she has learned with our students.

Dance from the Heart

Congratulations to Coralie Brown on being the recipient of our first annual Dance from the Heart Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a student who has shown great dedication to his/her dance studies while demonstrating a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Coralie began as a student in our Dance for Young Children Program and continues with us to this day. She is now graduating from O’Donel High School and we are very proud to have her as part of our MPSD family. A very special thank you to Jeremy Cummings and Charlie Harris along with the exceptional agents at Harris & Associates of Re/Max Realty Specialists for their generous donation of our first annual Dance From the Heart Scholarship.
